Meet the distributor: Mach-Tex

Having identified opportunities for growth across a total of 17 countries, Roman Gajowiec has set his sights high as SDCE’s newest distributor.  As an established agent and an existing customer of SDCE products himself, the entrepreneur has a targeted strategy for business development across his native Poland, and his ambition knows no boundaries when it comes to exploring unchartered territory across the breadth of Eastern Europe.

As an established distributor of the industry’s leading brands in textile testing equipment, Mach-Tex is the go-to name for industry professionals across its native Poland and beyond. Since 1995, textiles professionals from all over Eastern Europe have relied upon Mach-Tex to bring the best in overseas innovation to the local textile trade and, according to owner Roman Gajowiec, there was just one very noticeable gap in the company’s portfolio.

“Since the very start of my career, I have been familiar with SDCE products,” he says. “The company offers a wide range of good quality products that aren’t available elsewhere, and they go hand in hand with the textile machinery brands that we represent.”

As an existing customer of SDCE itself, Mach-Tex is already well-versed in the unrivalled quality and consistency of SDCE’s consumables. And it is this first-hand insight into the importance of quality control in textile manufacturing that gives Mach-Tex the edge when it comes to being trusted and relied upon by fellow manufacturers wanting the best for their brand.

“We started out as manufacturers ourselves, predominantly in the intimate apparel sector for the Polish market,” says Gajowiec. “The textile sector may have shrunk since we were established in the 1990s, but this hasn’t affected the technical textiles sector or testing laboratories. Essentially, assessing and maintaining the quality of textiles and end product has remained a paramount concern for the industry – both with regards to goods manufactured here and those imported into Europe – and textile testing products remain a constant value in my predicted turnover.”

Gajowiec and his team actually have high aspirations to increase turnover as a direct result of developing business and generating demand for textile testing consumables.

“SDCE is already held in high regard across Europe as a reputable company,” he says. “But with a focus on marketing, customer visits and event participation, I am looking at increasing awareness of the brand and demand for product.”

Mach-Tex’s territory spans 17 countries in total; Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Montenegro, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina and Macedonia. Since its attendance at ITMA Milan last month – in conjunction with SDCE – Mach-Tex has already started to build a network of contacts for potential new business.

“We are currently in a good market position,” says Gajowiec. “With the support of SDCE, we are confident that we can increase turnover and develop business across our territory for many successful years to come.”
