SDCE expands its direct distribution into Belgium

SDCE has added a dedicated Belgian distributor to its ever-growing network of international partners. Total Testing Service (TTS) Belgium – part of the Tunisian Laboratory Service (TLS) Group – will take over the distribution of SDCE consumables to businesses across Belgium and neighbouring countries such as Luxembourg as of this year.

Newly established in 2019, TTS Belgium heralds a new phase of expansion for SDCE’s existing distributor for Tunisia TLS.

“We have a remarkable number of satisfied and loyal European customers at our Tunisian headquarters,” says Director Jalel Abderrahman. “That is what prompted us to open our new subsidiary in Belgium, where we will be better placed to sell products alongside our testing services from a central European base.”

Since its inception in 2006, Total Testing Services Tunisia has become highly-regarded as a specialist in the testing and analysis of leather, footwear and cosmetics, and a trusted supplier of associated goods to the trade. Its ongoing expansion led to the distinction between testing and the supply of products in 2017, with the creation of a separate company TLS which focuses solely on the supply of goods such as SDCE consumables.

The addition of TTS Belgium to the stable brings the total of subsidiaries to three, all operating under the Laboservice umbrella.

“TLS – and now TTS Belgium – sells all of the products previously sold by TTS Tunisia, which now focuses solely on its testing services,” summarises Abderrahman. “SDCE consumables in particular are in very high demand, and we receive a significant number of requests daily from our European customers related to colour fastness testing.”

The popularity of SDCE consumables has been integral to the success of the Laboservice group, which cites the brand as one of its key business partners.

“SDCE has always been one of the best suppliers that we work with,” says Abderrahman. “It represents all of the qualities that identify a good supplier; product quality, price, availability, reliability and customer service. We have identified a real opportunity to grow business for SDCE across Belgium in line with the ongoing demand for quality products for use in BS, EN and ISO procedures.”

Currently, TTS Belgium is still finalising its business in Europe and replicating the successful model already established in Tunisia. However, those at the helm of the business have revealed plans to form a partnership with a local laboratory to outsource some of its testing to optimise efficiency, implement strict regimes of accounting controls and to exceed the expectations of both new and existing customers.

The Tunisian arm of the business meanwhile is overhauling its website and increasing its presence at trade exhibitions to further establish itself as the central hub for enquiries across Africa and Europe.

“We are supporting our team at TTS Belgium from Tunisia and we are focused on our strategy for the new few years,” says Abderrahman. “There is no such thing as a typical day at TLS but our goal is always the same, and that is to exceed the expectations of our customers worldwide.”
